We made it to Redwater, TX for the first of our Thanksgiving Celebrations. I have two sisters who live in that area. And we met at the oldest one's house. She has just moved and so this was our first time to see her house and meet her fiance'. We had a great meal, watched football, and then the kids (adults included) played a video game. Well it was so funny to watch, we just might have to buy the game.

We then drove home, and saw a few deer on the way. Right on the Interstate. About 20 or more altogether, two to six at a time.

I have to say that since this was our first Thanksgiving without both of our parents; that it was great. I have three sisters and one brother. But at least the four of us girls are fairly close... and can spend time together and often do when we can.

It would be nice to have more than one chance a year to do this. And since I heard yesterday that there would be at least two weddings shortly after the first of the year, I guess we will have at least those two events... and then there will also be two new babies born.... so maybe 2009 will have way more happiness than 2008 did...
